Spicy Prawns Coconut Fry

Easy recipe for Goan-style prawns paired with fresh grated coconut made using very simple pantry ingredients that you definitely have right now - great as a side dish to complete a simple home cooked meal.

Ingredients

  • 400 gms Prawns (cleaned and deveined)
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp pepper powder
  • 8 - 10 curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp garlic (minced)
  • 2 green chillies (sliced)
  • 3 tbsps coconut Fresh grated
  • 1 tbsp coriander Fresh (finely chopped)
  • to taste salt

Instructions

  1. Marinate the prawns with salt, turmeric, chilli and pepper powder.
  2. Heat oil. Add curry leaves, green chillies and garlic paste and fry until fragrant.
  3. Add the marinated prawns and stir fry till 3/4 done (let them sear a little so don't cover the pan).
  4. Add fresh grated coconut and turn off in a minute.
  5. Garnish with fresh coriander.
