  • 200 gms Prawns deveined
  • 1 Radish (chopped lengthwise like fries or small chunks)
  • 1/2 red onion finely chopped
  • 1 cup coconut grated
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 5 whole long red chillies dry
  • 5 black pepper whole
  • 1/4 tspn coriander seeds
  • 1/4 tspn tamarind paste
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 cup water
  • salt to taste

  1. Clean and devein the prawns. Peel and chop the white radish lengthwise like fries or small chunks.
  2. Grind together - coconut, turmeric powder, red chillies, black peppercorns, coriander seeds, tamarind with some water to a fine paste and set aside.
  3. In a pan heat the coconut oil and fry the finely chopped onion until softened.
  4. Then add the radish with a pinch of turmeric powder and water. Cover and let it come to a boil. When the radish is half way done, add the prawns.
  5. When the prawns change color, add the ground paste, salt to taste, and let it come to a boil. Turn off the heat when both the radish and prawns are cooked perfectly. Serve hot with steamed rice.
