Season’s Restaurant Amsterdam that specializes in incredibly simple food focused on fresh local produce and eating in season.
Oh Amsterdam, what a fabulous summer it was! There were windmills and Poffertjes (Dutch mini pancakes drizzled with powdered sugar & Nutella). M and I walked and talked, happy as can be, perfectly content with escaping the scorching summers in Dubai. Arriving here after having eaten through France, a great food scene wasn’t high on our list in Amsterdam – we were there for, how do I put this mildly, exploring wilder pursuits.
We got a portion of Steamed Scallops in buttery garlic sauce with crunchy baby corn. It was easy to see how little in terms of ingredients was actually used in this dish. But every flavour was so pronounced – the scallops were succulent, corn that still had a bite to it and a luscious buttery sauce that just made everything better!
